Price Of Diesel Hits A Record High

If you want to fill up your car with diesel, be prepared: The cost of diesel now sits at a whopping £1.42 per litre.

These prices are staggering but the AA has said that if these trends continue diesel will cost £1.50 per litre by Christmas.

The rising cost of diesel is likely to hit families who are already feeling the pinch. Rising food and utility costs have struck at the same time as the recession. A spokesman for the AA has blamed speculators for rising prices: fuel prices have been rising at a cost of approximately a penny per week.

Other market commentators have been quick to blame the weak pound for the spiralling cost of oil.

There can be no better time to make sure you are fuel efficient when driving, drive at a regular speed, do not strain the engine and only make necessary journeys.
