Stock Broker Checklist
When you are stock broker hunting, make sure you check over what services they offer. The level of involvement you require is up to you but see if they can offer additional investment tools. Here is a stock broker checklist:
- Are they regulated, if so where/by whom?
- What additional services are offered (CFDs, Forex etc)?
- Is there an introductory offer?
- What are the fees/ set up costs?
- What are the account criteria?
- What base currencies are there?
- What are the trade methods (online/telephone…)?
- How much is commission?
- Is Extended Settlement offered?
- What Custody Options are there (Paper Certificates, CREST etc)?
- Which markets are covered?
- What is the platform and which software is required?
- Are there training facilities?
- What support is offered?
These are just some of the questions you need to tick off before signing up to a new account. After all, it is your money and future at stake so make sure you are putting it in a good place!
